Grad Write Ups for Graduation Ceremony

DUE: TBA

Students must use the link on their own account and submit their write up.

Grad write-ups are read as students cross the stage to shake the principal's hand and receive their diploma on TBC. Write ups are meant to be formal, articulate, and concise at only 50 to 60 words.

This is mandatory for ALL grads. If we don't have a personalised write up, we will write something on behalf of grads as they walk across the stage. Please have grads follow use the QR Coode below using their NVSD account to complete the form linked below and submit their write up before April 25th. This link is also posted in our Grade 12 Team.

Grad write-ups should be in the third person and with your positive experiences at Seycove in mind. Consider including the following:

  • Favourite memories
  • Memorable quote
  • Activities you were involved in
  • Advice to future grads
  • Future plans
  • Special thanks to staff, family, friends

Below are a few examples of acceptable grad write-ups:

Paul is honoured to have spent the last five years among the people who stand with him today. He thanks the teachers who inspired him, the coaches who pushed him, and the classmates who were by his side through it all. Paul wishes each of his fellow graduates the best in their future endeavours.

Meghan would like to thank her parents for their endless support, her friends for the unforgettable memories, and History 12 for teaching her that nothing good ever comes from procrastination. She is going to miss Seycove but is excited to start studying early childhood education at Capilano University next year. Congrats, grads of 2025! This is just the beginning.

Before embarking on an adventure at the University of Toronto next year to study business, Maureen would like to acknowledge their friends, teachers, and their mother for their unwavering support. As Ghandi said, β€œIn a gentle way, you can shake the world."
